Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does this CCNA lab book cover every single topic listed in the official course material?

While it wouldn’t really be feasible to cover every single topic mentioned in the exam certification, I did thoroughly review and base my labs on the topics that were a must have on the exam.

2. What if I don’t think this book is right for me?

There is a 30 day money back guarantee to ensure that you are protected if this CCNA lab book isn’t exactly for you.

3. What does this lab book have that others don’t?

For starters, the majority of lab books and materials are based on “How To’s”, they tell you how but not really why this would be beneficial in the real world. My Cisco lab book covers two very important things that will make the CCNA Exam simulations a breeze for you.

The first is that I based all the labs on real world scenarios, what this means to you is that you will understand when and why certain Cisco CCNA technologies are implemented and when other technologies are not. For example this may be obvious, but you’ll learn why EIGRP would be great for certain networks and why it wouldn’t work so well for others.

The second reason is that I made sure to include topics that go beyond the scope of the CCNA Exam. What I noticed is that the CCNA really only touches on the LAN side of things. You’ll get a chance to configure things such as PPP Multi-links and learn how loop back interfaces are a great asset to your CCNA Labs and real world environments.

4. How did you come up with the labs?

I actually documented all the labs previously during my CCNA studies. I believe that the greatest chance at passing the CCNA Exam is having really great lab challenges to troubleshoot and solve. You’ll actually have a leg up on me on my studies because you’ll learn about the many real world scenarios that I didn’t learn about until after I passed my exam!

5. Are you CCNA Certified?

Yes I’m certified, I passed my test in May 2009 after 2 months of rigorous study. I’ve been in IT however for over 5 years now but I always enjoyed the networking side the most. I made a  decision in March 2009 to go for the area of IT that interested me the most. So I left my IT contracting gig to completely focus on this test, I passed both the CCENT and CCNA within that two month period. I happened to get my break in the world of networking the WEEK after passing the exam. While this isn’t common, a great deal was based on persistence and luck honestly. Again I learned A LOT (still am) about ISP’s and many different network environments which allowed me to quickly learn how the CCNA played a role in the world of network engineering!
